Your car radio is attached to a specially equipped with a piece of equipment called an antenna (or maybe a coat hanger with aluminum foil wrapped around it). Regardless, without an antenna, your radio is incapable of receiving signals. And because your body doesn’t have an antenna or any of the specially designed circuitry, it is bombarded by radio waves without your knowledge. There is a wealth of knowledge (admittedly, some might argue this point) traversing the radio waves, but you cannot benefit from it unless you tune in.
So it is with today’s Internet. There are literally millions of people across the globe sharing their knowledge and expressing their perspectives through web sites called blogs (short for Web Logs). A conversation is taking place: Do you have your antenna up?
You might be surprised to learn that there are dozens of REALTORS® right here in Virginia who write blogs. Some write to get new clients. Some write to demonstrate their expertise. Some write to differentiate themselves from their competitors. And some write just for the fun of it.
If you are a REALTOR® blogger, this post is especially for you. You are invited to attend the first-ever Virginia Real Estate Bloggercon on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Williamsburg Lodge in the Constitution Room. Please RSVP by leaving a comment here.
On a space-available basis, we may be able to accommodate those who are interested in writing a blog or just sitting in on the conversation. Non-bloggers, please leave a comment, and watch this blog for updates on the Virginia Real Estate Bloggercon.
Current REALTOR® bloggers: If you would be so kind, please grab the Bloggercon badge in this post and put it in your blog sidebar with a link to this page to spread the word. You might also want to write a post specifically to let your readers know that you’ll be attending.
